Scott and I have taken off several days to celebrate our first anniversary. Even though we aren't really traveling anywhere for this vacation, we're still having a great time. On our first day off, Thursday, we slept in (and by that I mean our dog Poe let us sleep in past our normal wake up time of 5:50 am and we rested until 7ish). I fought a migraine, sadly, and took a few hours in the morning to recover from attempting to take a migraine stopper (aka some medicine pill thing) which actually made my head feel worse and KO'd me on the bed.

We played Everquest together in the morning/afternoon and then we took out our brand-spankin-new tennis rackets to the apartment tennis court. I haven't played tennis [Continue reading ...]

My very good friend has officially started her blog, Simple and Clean! You can find her at www.simpleandclean.me

She quotes Leonardo da Vinci in her opening post : “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. She will share tips and tricks to find your ultimate sophistication. If you need ideas for decluttering or organization, follow her blog!

Also, a shout out to Kingdom Hearts fans. You already know what I'm talking about ;). Simple and Clean is the title of a song from that video game.

Wow. It has almost been one year since I married my best friend and soul mate. At times it feels like only a few months have passed. Other times like I've already spent a life time with the man who can always make me feel happy and special.

One week before the official First Anniversary. We are taking some vacation days before, almost taking a full week to relax and have fun celebrating. I can't wait to give Scott his gifts. In true to our style, as those who went to our wedding would know, these gifts are exactly traditional. I won't say now as I'm sure he will read this before the day, but I will definitely tell afterwards!

Also be prepared for posts sharing pictures of places we visit [Continue reading ...]

The first day of spring, according to the calendar is tomorrow. To celebrate I have bought a new flag to hang outside of the apartment! I've also purchased another DVD rack and reorganized my DVDs and Video Games. I've dusted my computer shelf and thrown away not needed things (a hard thing for me, the epic pack-rat). Spring Cleaning / Fever set in. Also, our air-conditioning finally got fixed. Woot! 80 degrees in the apartment wasn't fun. Short post this time. Here's my new flag:

The phrase my mother recited to me in my youth is not quite right today. Weather has been wickety-wack, to coin another Kristina-ism, this year. Winter was predicted to be harsh again. I must have slept through it because I don't remember having a winter at all. I'm so confused at this point that I've left my Christmas tree up thinking maybe, just maybe, winter will decide to come around eventually. Where was the snow? The cold, the ice, the winteriness? [Continue reading ...]

This morning I piddled around, like I usually do, and wound up wasting a bit too much time than I had planned. In panic, when I realized what time it was, I ran about the apartment getting my things packed for heading to my family's this afternoon, piling the presents to pack in the car, getting myself ready, doing laundry (as I had run out of clothes!), packing our dog Poe's items, and making my Pineapple Cracker Spread for this evening's festivities. [Continue reading ...]

My husband and I went Christmas shopping this afternoon, finishing up on those few items for the families. I then proceeded to listen to Mannheim Steamroller and wrap presents - two presents for the second time. I'll explain.

Last weekend I had my two sister's over (15 year old and a 6 year old). We went shopping for gifts for our parents. We also wrapped said gifts, rather nicely I might add. We placed them under the Christmas tree (which happens to be sitting on TOP of the dining room table, otherwise our dog Poe would ingest every last [Continue reading ...]

You see, there's smoke in the air. Even though this happened 15 minutes ago, there still a heavy fog.... everywhere in the apartment. I can't tell if I want to scratch my eyes or sneeze, or maybe a bit of both. My poor dog is hiding in the bedroom because of the smoke alarm that [Continue reading ...]
